Know Before You Go

  • From Lucerne Railwat Station : 8 minutes by train (S3 or Voralpen-Express). Alight at Luzern Verkehrshaus& 10 minutes by bus (no. 6, 8 or 24). Alight at Verkehrshaus 10 minutes by boat. Alight at Verkehrshaus-Lido 30 minutes on foot along the lakeside promenade Reach by car : Parking may be found along Lidostrasse and opposite the lakeside lido. 8 short-term parking bays (2 hrs), 4 disabled bays and 3 electric vehicle rapid charge points are provided in front of the museum

  • The clients need to exchange this printed e-voucher at the ticket counter. The Voucher is approved & formatted by the excursion company, any tampering or changes on this voucher may affect the services or the delivery of the service to the customer, the customer will not receive the excursion tickets and no refunds will be applicable.

  • Voucher is only valid for the date and time it is booked.

  • A ticket is required to visit the museum (whether with or without an audio guide)

The museum, Planetarium, Filmtheatre and Swiss Chocolate Adventure are wheelchair accessible. The Swiss Museum of Transport has two wheelchairs available on a loan basis (if available). We recommend booking wheelchair admissions for the Swiss Chocolate Adventure, Planetarium and Filmtheatre by telephone the day before. The museum and Swiss Chocolate Adventure are also suitable for visitors with visual or hearing impairments. Four disabled parking bays are available in front of the main entrance. The Swiss Museum of Transport has two disabled toilets with handholds.

The minimum recommended age for the daily programmes at the Filmtheatre and Planetarium is 6. The museum and Swiss Chocolate Adventure are suitable for a younger age group. The age limit for VR simulations is 12 years, based on expert recommendations.

Three electric vehicle rapid charge points are provided by the entrance of the museum at Lidostrasse 5. The maximum parking time for charging is 90 minutes
